BYLAW NO. 07-2010

 

A BYLAW OF THE TOWN OF CUPAR TO FIX THE RATES TO BE CHARGED FOR THE USE AND
CONSUMPTION OF WATER AND TO FIX THE RATES TO BE CHARGED BY WAY OF RENT OR
SERVICE CHARGE FOR THE USE OF SEWER

 

The Council of the Town of Cupar, in the Province of Saskatchewan, enacts as follows:

 

  1. The charges to be paid by the water consumer whose water service has been turned on shall be those set out in
    Schedule "A" attached; provided, however, that the minimum shall be payable in every case whether or not any water is consumed.

 

  1. Every person or business that owns or occupies a premise that drains or by bylaw is required to drain into the sewer shall pay for
    such services in accordance with Schedule "B" attached.

 

  1. Account billings for water service shall cover a period of (1) one month minimum rate for the months of January, February, April,
  2. May, July, August, October and November and an actual reading billing during the months of March, June, September and December.
    The account billings for sewer service shall cover a period of (1) one month flat rate for all months of the year.

  1. Accounts shall be paid within a period of one month from the date on which the billing has occurred.  Non-payment of an account
    within the period of one month will result in discontinued services without written notice. Service shall not be resumed until all arrears
    and penalty charges have been paid in full. 

 

  1. A reconnection fee for none payment accounts of Fifty dollars ($50.00) will be charged and must be paid prior to reconnection to cover
    the expense of turning off the water and turning it on again. If it is required to turn on the water service outside the Town of Cupar's
    employees' regular hours, the reconnection fee shall be doubled.

 

  1. A reconnection fee of One Hundred dollars ($100.00) will be charged to disconnect and reconnect any household or
    business for temporary purposes.

 

  1. A penalty of 3% monthly will be added to all water and sewer accounts outstanding at the date of the next billing.

 

  1.  Consumers will be permitted to prepay water charges within the current year to receive a 5% discount off the base
    rate of $576.00 and prepay
    sewer charges within the current year to receive a 5% discount of the base rate of $132.00

 

The rates, charges, penalties, discounts or deposits contained in this bylaw shall come into force and take effect on
the day of approval being issued by the Saskatchewan Municipal Board.

 

Bylaw No. 14-2007 of the Town of Cupar is hereby repealed.
